Tennis originated in Egypt and Greece back in the 11th century. The engraving published in the British Review in 1894. entitled: "The Montenegrin Knight is playing tennis at Cetinje" and a photograph made at that time show that tennis was introduced in Montenegro in the late 19 th century.

The "SBS" Tennis Sport Centre is located in the heart of the ancient tourist place of Herceg Novi, in the south of the Adriatic Coast , at the entrance of the Kotor Bay , with the average temperature of 10 0 C in January. Within the preserved ancient part of the town, which was established in 1382., there are marvelous forts built in the period of Turkish, Venetian, Spanish and Austrian rules.
